\"CruiseSmiths.jpg\"There has been speculation in the last year or two that Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, have become involved with Scientology via his friendship with Tom Cruise<\/a>. Smith denied <\/a>those rumors last year, saying that his deceased grandmother, a devout Baptist, would “get up out of her casket” if he became a Scientologist. But now those questions have resurfaced with Smith\u2019s latest interview with Men\u2019s Vogue <\/a>. In the interview, Smith claims that he sees little difference between the Bible and Scientology, or in fact, little difference between Scientology and any other religion.<\/p>\n


\nIn the Vogue interview, Smith claims that he has looked at Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism in addition to Scientology,and that his conclusion is that ” no one is saying anything different.”
\nSmith also says he believes that “ninety-eight percent of the principles [in Scientology] are identical to the principles of the Bible.”
\nI am not sure if such a lack of spiritual insight or critical thinking comes from Smith spending too much time in alternate universes in all of his sci-fi \/action flicks, but I am pretty sure most knowledgeable Christians, Hindus and Muslims would stand together in agreement that their respective religions have about as much of a connection with the true nature of Scientology as Smith’s “Fresh Prince” sitcom had with the Emmys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
