28-year-old Lauren Daigle’s song \u2018You Say\u2019 just broke a Christian music record with 62 weeks at number 1 on the charts.<\/p>\n

The track passes Hillsong United’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail),” which began its 61-frame rule in December 2013.<\/p>\n

“I really pondered the journey of the song ‘Oceans,’ and I remember seeing the impact that song made on so many people. It was just so beautiful to me,” Daigle told Billboard. “I hoped that I could be a part of something that shakes the earth like that song. I didn’t know that would ever happen, and I had no idea that ‘You Say’ would be something that would parallel the life of ‘Oceans.'”<\/p>\n

Her accomplishment came days after she announced her first-ever headline arena world tour, starting in Australia.<\/p>\n

The song off her album, “Look Up Child,” is about identity. In a video about the story behind the song, Daigle said “You Say” was the first song she wrote after her first album, right after her first Dove Awards Show.<\/p>\n

“This song is just a reminder of identity. A reminder that, when I’m weak, He’s strong, so how do I change that and bring that into my everyday life?” she said. “When I feel inadequate, how is it that there’s always these moments where I feel like God just steps in and supersedes my inadequacies.”<\/p>\n

She added, “this entire song was so that every single night I would get up on stage and remind myself, ‘No, this is the truth…Don’t get buried in confusion. Don’t get buried in waywardness, just remember to steady the course.'”<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Daigle received six nominations from the Dove Awards. This included Song of the Year for “You Say.”<\/p>\n
