Darren Collison, Point Guard for the Indiana Pacers, announced in a letter published by The Undefeated that he was retiring from the NBA to focus on his faith.<\/p>\n

Collision has had a 10-year career in the NBA. He was drafted in 2009 and played seven seasons with the Pacers. He also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers and the Sacramento Kings.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasketball has been my life since I was a child. I could never imagine finding anything that brings me more joy than I get from playing the game. While I still love basketball, I know there is something more important, which is my family and my faith,\u201d Collison said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am one of the Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses and my faith means everything to me. I receive so much joy from volunteering to help others and participate in a worldwide ministry. The joy I feel is unmatched. With that being said, I have decided to retire from the NBA.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his retirement post, he spent time thanking other players that inspired him to become his best in the game. This included stars like DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James. He also thanked his wife.<\/p>\n
