After a decade-long championship drought, Tiger Woods returned to major victory on Sunday when he won the 2019 Masters Tournament and secured the coveted green jacket.<\/p>\n

This is a true comeback story \u2013 from personal and professional adversity, Woods was able to win his fifth Masters title and his 15th major tournament.<\/p>\n

Woods scored 13 under par at the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Course, beating storied competitors including Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson.<\/p>\n

He couldn\u2019t contain his excitement after sinking his final put. He threw up his hands and began celebrating. Woods took a moment to hug his children as he left the course, USA Today reported.<\/p>\n

This is Woods\u2019 first major win in 11 years, where he placed first in the 2008 U.S. Open.<\/p>\n

This was quite an exciting tournament with golf enthusiasts bracing themselves in the final round. Going into it, Francesco Molinari, Tony Finau and Woods were the leading three, teeing off at 9:20 a.m. EST, according to the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

Wood\u2019s win secured his fifth green jacket. The only other player that beats his record is Jack Nicklaus, who has won the Masters six times. With this triumphant win, Woods isn\u2019t far from securing this spot.<\/p>\n

Nicklaus was very supportive of Wood\u2019s win. He celebrated the news, congratulating him in a touching tweet, writing, \u201cA big \u2018well done\u2019 from me to @TogerWoods! I am so happy for him and for the game of golf. This is just fantastic!!!\u201d<\/p>\n
