During a recent interview with the Associated Press<\/em>, the popular Christian actor said he doesn\u2019t believe Hollywood is as anti-Christian as many people believe.<\/p>\n

He is feeling a strong sense of calling to speak out right now about his Christian faith.<\/p>\n

In his experience, celebrities haven\u2019t been judgmental about his beliefs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that there\u2019s this narrative that exists out there that Hollywood is anti-Christian or anti-religious, but that\u2019s not the case,\u201d Pratt told the AP<\/em>. \u201cThey are kind of not anti-anything. They are kind of pro-whatever is authentic to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI like that,\u201d he added, \u201cbecause it\u2019s authentic for me to be pro-Christian, pro-Jesus. That\u2019s my thing. I like it. And I\u2019ve never had anyone try to shame me, to my face.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pratt acknowledged that people could be talking about his faith behind his back, but said they can \u201cgo ahead\u201d if they are. He\u2019s not moved in any way by it and will always stand behind his faith in Jesus Christ. He\u2019s not going to change, he said.<\/p>\n

Pratt has a remarkable faith story. He opened up to Vanity Fair<\/em> about the moment he turned to Jesus and was saved.<\/p>\n

It all began when a man named Henry came up to him and said, \u201cJesus told me to talk to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

During this period in his life, Pratt was in his early 20\u2019s, working at a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Hawaii\u00a0 and living out of his van. At the time, he was homeless and in survival mode.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sitting outside a grocery store. We\u2019d convinced someone to go in and buy us beer,\u201d Pratt said. \u201cThis is Maui, and a guy came up and recognized something in me that needed to be saved.\u201d<\/p>\n

He asked Pratt what he was doing that night. He replied, \u201cMy friend\u2019s inside buying me alcohol.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then asked Pratt if he had plans on drinking, doing drugs and fornicating and Pratt admitted that he hoped so. Though this man was a complete stranger and asking him some pretty personal questions, the man didn\u2019t make Pratt nervous. In fact, he felt a sense of calm around him.<\/p>\n

Curious about the man\u2019s intentions, Pratt said, \u201cWhy are you asking?\u201d<\/p>\n

The man replied, \u201cJesus told me to talk to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

At that very moment, Pratt knew he needed to go with this man. Henry took him to church. Pratt\u2019s friends were completely caught off guard when he declared that he was going to change his life.<\/p>\n

Not long after the encountering, Pratt was cast in Cursed Part 3, the movie that got his foot in the door of acting, which eventually led to Hollywood success. The rest is history.<\/p>\n

Since then, his faith has really shaped his life. He and his ex-wife actress Anna Faris, relied on their trust in the Lord when their son was in the intensive care unit for the first month of his life after being born nine weeks premature.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were scared for a long time. We prayed a lot,\u201d Pratt said. \u201cIt restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though doctors said their son, Jack, would live with disabilities due to premature birth, God healed him in the NICU.<\/p>\n

Pratt is also very vocal about his Christian faith on his social media accounts. He frequently quotes Bible verses and shares bits of his testimony. Last year, he posted a picture on Instagram of him and his friends building a giant steel cross and mounting it on a hill. He recently shared this powerful verse on social media:<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness blinded them.\u201d -1 John 2:10-11.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s incredible to see that fame and the spotlight have not uprooted Pratt from his faith. In fact, it only seems to be growing stronger. In an industry scare in devout Christians, Pratt is refreshing.<\/p>\n
