I know the temptation to not want to let go of hurt or disappointment. My marriage has had severe tests and struggles, and so has my family. In writing this book, my wife and I decided to share some things we have never shared before. We have learned that God did not intend for us to be the walking wounded. He intended for us – for all of us – to be whole. And the only way to be reconciled, healed and whole is to love like you\u2019ve never been hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

In order to regain the confidence and ability to love with open hearts again, a person has to be able to forgive and to trust. As such, Franklin tackles these issues in his book. He uses both Biblical and modern-day stories as well as his own personal experiences to answer such questions as \u201cShould I try and trust again?\u201d and \u201cCan I ever really forgive?\u201d<\/p>\n

Franklin does not just deal with romantic love either. In addition to addressing marriage issues and concerns, Franklin also tackles the issues that come up when dealing with the love that exists between parent and child, siblings or even simply between two strangers. \u201cLove Like You\u2019ve Never Been Hurt\u201d addresses the challenge of loving God as well. Franklin talks about holding on to or reacquiring love for God after tragedy and loss when all most people want to do is demand to know why their loved ones are gone.<\/p>\n
