Singer Jennifer Hudson says the Bible changed her life.<\/p>\n

Hudson was asked which book changed her life during an interview with The Guardian, and responded with \u201cThe Bible. I\u2019ve been reading it since I was little and it hasn\u2019t failed me yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

She relies on it during times of trial, including when her mother, older brother and 7-year-old nephew were brutally murdered back in 2008.<\/p>\n

“It (faith) was the ultimate help to me. We always said: ‘If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it,'” Hudson said in a previous interview with The Guardian in 2014. “There would be no point in faith if it wasn’t tested. My mother always told me no matter how negative your life seems to be, you must always look for a positive. That is what I believe a woman of faith should do.”<\/p>\n

The entertainer has been very vocal about her faith with her fans and testified about God\u2019s greatness. In 2016, she took to Instagram to share how her faith keeps her from stressing.<\/p>\n

“That’s why I never worry. God always [has] something greater in store,” Hudson wrote. “I know [because] I’ve seen Him work too many times not to be able to recognize it this time around! For those who don’t believe, I just say and they will understand it better by and by!”<\/p>\n

She ended the post with \u201cGod always got somebody when others just won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hudson was thrusted into the spotlight after gaining popularity as a contestant on American Idol in 2004. She started learning to sing by participating in church choirs in her hometown Chicago. Today, she talks about her faith in many of her songs.<\/p>\n

“What do they say in church? Sing from your heart, because you are singing to God,” the soul singer says. “You know, when I used to sing those solos in Church I would go through every line and ask the director: \u2018What does this mean? What are we trying to convey here?\u2019 If you can\u2019t feel the emotion of a song, how do you expect anyone else to?
