Is there a bias toward conservative Christians in Hollywood? There is now some real merit.<\/p>\n

Conservative Christian actor Kevin Sorbo was recently banned from a Comicon convention as a result of his political leanings.<\/p>\n

The founder and promoter of East Coast Comicon, Cliff Galbraith announced that he will not be inviting Sorbo to the convention as a result of his relationship with conservative political commentator, Sean Hannity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI turned down Kevin Sorbo for East Coast Comicon,\u201d said Galbraith. \u201cHe\u2019s pals with Sean Hannity. I just can\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a result of Galbraith\u2019s post, some urged him to also ban other actors including Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, James Wood, Join Voight and Chuck Norris who are also known to have conservative viewpoints.<\/p>\n

Others, however, criticized  his decision.<\/p>\n

Sorbo believes that there is a clear bias toward conservative Christians in Hollywood:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a negativity towards Christians in Hollywood. And a negativity towards people who believe in God,\u201d Sorbo has previously said.<\/p>\n

Sorbo would have been a candidate for East Coast Comicon due to his role as Hercules in Hercules: The <\/em>Legendary Journeys and as the main character in the sci-fi series Andromeda<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kevin Sorbo is known not only for his Christian roles in faith-films including a star role in, God\u2019s Not Dead<\/em> but also his conservative Christian views and his outspoken faith.<\/p>\n

He has been very vocal about many political matters and believes that many of the problems America is facing today are a result of our nation becoming too secular.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause we are taking God out of everything many people in our country lack biblical and moral principles to guide them in their decision-making and hope for a better future,” Kevin said in an interview with Beliefnet.<\/p>\n

He believes that faith-based films can help capture a strong message of hope and he\u2019s not afraid to take on those roles to bring Christ to the big screen.<\/p>\n

Sorbo is set to star in One Nation Under God<\/em>, a drama which centers on a magnet high school where the words \u201cunder God\u201d have been removed from the Pledge of Allegiance.<\/p>\n

Sorbo will play the presidential candidate who deals with the repercussions of an argument that focuses on faith, free speech and First Amendment rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
