Singer Britney Spears hit back at criticism launched against her by pop star Katy Perry.<\/p>\n
But she didn’t use foul language or threats.<\/p>\n
Instead, she took to social media by using a Scripture found in Luke.<\/p>\n
The story all started when Perry told Ryan Seacrest during an interview that she was taking a break from the music scene for her mental health \u201cIt\u2019s like the last color in the spectrum that I can do,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve done all of them and the only thing left to do is shave my head, which I\u2019m really saving for a public breakdown.\u201d<\/p>\n
Perry was referencing Spears, who had a mental breakdown, locked herself in the house and shaved her head over 10 years ago. The joke was not taken lightly by Spears, who responded with a Scripture from Luke 6:45. “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
One fan responded: \u201cMental illness isn\u2019t funny. Stop trying to be quirky.\u201d<\/p>\n
“I turned into this different person, seriously, bipolar disorder,” Spears said in the “I Am Britney Jean” documentary about her struggle with mental illness.<\/p>\n
Spears has opened up more about her faith over the years, although she has jumped to a few religions outside of Christianity.<\/p>\n
“I’m a Baptist. I grew up going to church but I think you can have spiritual experiences without going to church,” she said earlier in her show business career. Spears has also dabbled in Kabbalah, Hinduism and once remarked that her kids are her religion.<\/p>\n
However, in a 2016 interview, she said “my relationship with God and myself and that’s what matters to me. I really don’t care what most people think,” she added.<\/p>\n
Lynne Spears, Britney’s\u00a0mother, wrote a book called Through the Storm.<\/em> It was about her daughter’s journey.<\/p>\n \u201cSomeone told me once that no one is immune to prayer, no one is so rich, so famous, so lost, that she is outside the power of petitioning God on her behalf.
