“I’ve been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I’m going to do,” Gaga said. “For me, it’s all about giving to the fans and bringing people together that wouldn’t normally come together.”<\/p>\n
The league echoed this in a statement released to “Entertainment Tonight.”<\/p>\n
“The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together. Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this.”<\/p>\n
Gaga is said to be solely focused on her performance and has been working with her dancers to perfect the act.<\/p>\n
People are just going to have to wait to see what happens during the show. We can only speculate what might happen.<\/p>\n
“We are confident Lady Gaga will put on a tremendous show for fans,” the NFL also stated.<\/p>\n
It has been a politically charged season for the NFL as it opened up the season with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick sitting in protest during the National Anthem. Kaepernick said he would not show pride in a flag that “oppresses black people and people of color.” The act of protest created a ripple effect in the league. Many\u00a0fans and some players deemed the protest as being inappropriate because of the stage\u00a0Kaepernick\u00a0preferred to use.<\/p>\n
