Even after marriage people find that the blissful feelings that developed during dating can fade away and aren\u2019t long-term. Our favorite celebrity couples aren\u2019t immune to the deterioration of love.<\/p>\n

2016 was not the year for love. Here are some of the saddest celebrity divorces this year.<\/p>\n

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie<\/strong><\/p>\n

Better known as Bradgelina, this couple was together for over a decade after infamously getting together when they worked on\u00a0Mr. and Mrs. Smith\u00a0<\/em>back in 2004. They married in 2014, partly for the sake of their six children. When TMZ got ahold of papers stating that Angelina was filing for divorce in September 2016, the world took a collective gasp. This seemingly golden couple divorced due to disagreements centered around\u00a0how they wanted to parent their children.<\/p>\n

Tobey Maguire & Jennifer Meyers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maguire met his jewlrey designer wife in 2003 on the set of\u00a0Seabiscuit.\u00a0<\/em>The two got married in 2007 and had two children together, Ruby and Otis. However, the family bliss didn’t last. In October 2016, the couple released a statement about their split. The pair will continue to put their children first, stating they will treat each other with respect, friendship and love.<\/p>\n

Kaley Cuoco & Ryan Sweeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two were only married for 21 months before their romantic fairy tale fell apart. Could it be due to the fact that they were only engaged for three months before they got hitched? The pair announced their split in late 2015, but the divorce didn’t finalize until this year.<\/p>\n

Liev Schreiber & Naomi Watts<\/strong><\/p>\n

This couple lasted for 11 years before they finally called it quits. The pair told the sad news of their divorce in September with a public statement they released together. Due to the couple having two children together, they request privacy from the public while they moved through this emotional time.<\/p>\n

Johnny Depp & Amber Heard<\/strong><\/p>\n

After meeting on the set of\u00a0The Rum Diaries\u00a0<\/em>in 2009, the two got together and married in February of 2015. Soon after in May of 2016, Heard filed for divorce in midst of domestic abuse allegations. After a rough few months of legal battles and a media frenzy, the divorce was finally settled. Heard eventually donated her part of the settlement from the divorce to charity.<\/p>\n

Drew Barrymore & Will Kopelman<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barrymore and Kopelman were together for five years before splitting separate ways. They have two children together that they have agreed to raise together. The divorce was amicable, they mutually decided that they weren’t meant to be. This is Barrymore’s second divorce.<\/p>\n

Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paltrow and Martin made headlines after 11 years they decided they were \u00a0planning to be “consciously uncoulped” (as opposed to a regular divorce, it appears.) It seems to have worked for them though. The two are both involved in the lives of their two children and even vacation together.<\/p>\n

Dennis Quaid & Kimberly Buffington<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not too many seemed extremely blindsided by the divorce of these two, as the couple had previously filed for divorce three separate times but changed their minds. The pair was together for 12 years but it was a rough marriage.<\/p>\n

Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Khloe and Lamar were married in 2009 just one month after they first met. Khloe first filed for divorce in 2013, but revoked the decision after Lamar was sent to the hospital for life-threatening reasons. The couple briefly reconciled after he survived the medical ordeal, but it did not last. Khloe then filed for divorce again on May 26, 2016.<\/p>\n
