Celebrities joined in on this trend, and posted about what they did to celebrate the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Ellen DeGeneres tweeted out a video highlighting acts of kindness done on her talk show and urged her fans to do something nice for others. Anthony Hopkins\u00a0expressed, \u201cBe kind, everyone is fighting a great big battle. #WorldKindnessDay.\u201d He later tweeted another message, \u201cOn #WorldKindnessDay, let us remember, we need less bullying and more kindness,\u201d along with a video for PACER\u2019s National Bullying Prevention Center.\u00a0La Toya Jackson felt, \u201cBe the reason someone else #smiles this #SundayMorning! #WorldKindnessDay\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the United States, groups came together to bring awareness about the holiday. One of the most popular ways to come together was through flash mobs. &#8220;Dance for Kindness&#8221; took over many cities, including Ayer, MA, San Francisco, CA, and Lakeland Florida. Over 12,000 people participated in the dance in 2015. Cities from across the nation pick a place to perform a flash dance mob in order to spread the beautiful message.<\/p>\n<p>Small acts of kindness haven&#8217;t gone unnoticed this day, either. A Nottingham City bus driver was thanked after he woke up a sleeping passenger on his bus.
