He spent six seasons on\u00a0<em>Saturday Night Live\u00a0<\/em>and then hosted\u00a0<em>Late Night\u00a0<\/em>for five years before taking over\u00a0<em>The Tonight Show<\/em> in 2014. Many are excited to have him take it further by hosting the Golden Globes.<\/p>\n<p>He previously hosted the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards with success. Fallon will be taking over the spot from Ricky Gervais, who hosted the even in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016. Gervais was only interrupted briefly by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who hosted from 2013-2015. Fallon has also presented awards at the Golden Globes in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJimmy Fallon is an exceptionally talented and dynamic entertainer and we couldn\u2019t be more excited that he\u2019ll be hosting the 2017 Golden Globes,\u201d said Lorenzo Soria, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. \u201cHis charm, wit and incredible spontaneity will play exceedingly well both to everyone at the show as well as the millions watching at home from around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nominations for the Golden Globes will be announced on Monday, December 12<sup>th<\/sup>.
