\"\"<\/a>The former late-night host David Letterman said he was surprised that CBS didn\u2019t hire a female successor at \u201cThe Late Show,\u201d and is now calling for television networks to employ more women.<\/p>\n

Letterman made remarks during an interview with NBC News\u2019 Tom Brokaw that will be airing on Sunday, June 12th. He stated: \u201cI don\u2019t know why they didn\u2019t give my show to a women.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Letterman said he \u201ccouldn\u2019t care less about late-night television,\u201d there were some changes he would have liked to see. Letterman was conflicted when he saw Colbert take his desk after his retirement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he went on the air, an energy left me and I felt like, \u2018You know, that\u2019s not my problem anymore.\u2019 I devoted so much time, to the damage of other aspects of my life. The concentrated, fixated, focusing on that\u2026it\u2019s good now to not have that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Letterman, whose show was notoriously known for not being full of women, now believes there should be the change.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy for the guys\u2014men and women\u2014there should be more women. And I don\u2019t know why they didn\u2019t give my show to a woman,\u201d Letterman continued. \u201cThat would have been fine. You know, I\u2019m happy for their success.
