\"download<\/a>Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors has never been shy about celebrating his faith as a Christian. Curry insists that his faith plays a vital role in his professional career, however he recently revealed why he doesn\u2019t always quote the Bible everywhere he goes. In an interview with Fellowship of Christian Athletes FCA Magazine,<\/em> Curry explained why he won\u2019t always have a bible verse to share publicly.<\/p>\n

“I’m not a guy who’s going to be trying to bash people over the head with the Bible,” he said in the magazine. “I want people to know when they see me play that something is different, that I play for something different, and whether I’m talking about it [or not], I just hope by the way I carry myself and by the way I play the game, they can see there’s something different about that guy. And they find out what it is and then they know. It’s part of who I am.”<\/p>\n

Curry recently made history with a second consecutive NBA MVP honor, achieved by a unanimous vote. Curry\u2019s commitment to his team while also being grounded in his faith has been an inspiration for many others. Curry told FCA Magazine<\/em> that he ultimately thanks God for his talent.<\/p>\n

“I’ve always been a believer that the Lord has put whatever talent in you, [and] whatever gift He has put in you, He wants you to get the most out of that. He wants you to succeed,” Curry says. “He wants you to pursue and work and be passionate about it. It’s not about getting any of the glory for yourself; it’s all for His [glory]. That’s where you have to keep perspective. Work at it and do all you can so you get the most out of yourself, but do it for His will.”<\/p>\n

Curry created a strong spiritual foundation at an early age, with his relationship with Jesus Christ starting around middle school. While he might not always publicly praise the Lord, he is choosing to live his life in accordance to the word.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
