\"image_idol.jpg\"Movie buffs won\u2019t want to miss tonight\u2019s American Film Institute special, \u201cAFI\u2019s 100 Movies 10th Anniversary Edition\u201d, on CBS.<\/a> Ten years ago the AFI <\/a>did a special celebrating the top 100 movies of the 20th century as decided by a panel of industry professionals. The special has spawned an annual series of film retrospectives including last year\u2019s \u201c100 Most Inspirational Movies.\u201c Now tonight\u2019s latest installment will focus on whether or not some of the most successful and critically-acclaimed movies of the last ten years will make the cut and be added to the new top 100, and which movies should begin the list of the 100 most important movies of the 21st century.
\nMany of the new additions to the original AFI ballot of over 300 movies have been movies we have debated right here at Idol Chatter, including \u201cBrokeback Mountain<\/a>,\u201d \u201cCrash,\u201d \u201cGood Night and Good Luck,\u201d and \u201cMillion Dollar Baby.\u201d Some blockbuster franchises also made the list, including \u201cLord of the Rings,\u201d \u201dGladiator,\u201d \u201cSpiderman 2,” and \u201cThe Sixth Sense.\u201d Conspicuously absent from the list, however, are two of the more significant religious movies of the last few years–\u201cThe Passion of the Christ<\/a>\u201d and \u201cChronicles of Narnia<\/a>.\u201d
\nSo what other movies do you think should be added to AFI\u2019s list as the most meaningful and influential movies of the last decade? Does \u201cHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban\u201d belong on the same list as \u201cThe Wizard of Oz”? Is \u201cHotel Rwanda \u201c this decade\u2019s \u201cSchindler\u2019s List\u201d?
