The music world lost another legend in 2016. Maurice White, the co-founder of Earth<\/em>,\u00a0Wind<\/em>\u00a0&\u00a0Fire<\/em>,\u00a0died in his sleep on Feb 4th<\/sup> at his home in Los Angeles from Parkinson’s disease. He was 74. White was the main song writer of the nine-piece group who brought a unique jazz fusion to the stage starting with the album, \u201cThat’s The Way of The World.\u201d We can remember disco hits like \u201cSeptember,\u201d \u201cShining Star\u201d and \u201cBoogie Wonderland,\u201d selling over 80 million copies of their albums. \u00a0White named the band after the three elements in his astrological chart and launched it in 1969.<\/p>\n Verdine White, a bassist with the group, shared about his brother on Facebook.<\/p>\n \u201cMy brother, hero and best friend Maurice White passed away peacefully last night in his sleep. While the world has lost another great musician and legend, our family asks that our privacy is respected as we start what will be a very difficult and life changing transition in our lives.
