\"Sesame<\/a>After much discussion, an agreement has been made for a new partnership between Sesame Workshop and HBO which will bring five seasons of the children’s programming, Sesame Street, to HBO and its streaming services. The new episodes are set to air this year in the fall.<\/p>\n

Reports are stating that the agreement will allow Sesame Street to produce 35 episodes a year – which is double of their current taping. Then after nine months of being exclusively available on HBO, the series will then be available for free on PBS – where the series has called home for 45 years.<\/p>\n

In a statement Jeffrey D. Dunn, Sesame Workshop’s CEO said, “Our new partnership with HBO represents a true winning public-private partnership model. It provides Sesame Workship with the critical funding it needs to be able to continue production of Sesame Street and secure its nonprofit mission of helping kids grow smarter, stronger and kinder.”<\/p>\n

Sesame Street is primarily funded through licensing revenue while only 10% of funding came from the PBS network.<\/p>\n

In addition, Sesame Workshop is said to create a spin-off series based on the Sesame Street Muppet that will also air on HBO. It is also said that HBO has also licensed more than 150 library episodes of Sesame Street which will be available to their customer for online streaming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
