Do you remember the first time your mom dropped you off at school?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You cling to her leg with tears streaming down your face.<\/p>\n

And whimper…<\/p>\n

Please don’t leave me?<\/em><\/p>\n

This place looks scary?<\/em><\/p>\n

Why can’t I stay with you?<\/em><\/p>\n

But your mom promises if you just stick it out it will be worth it.<\/p>\n

You are going to learn all of these new things and have all these great new experiences.<\/p>\n

She pries your fingers away from her leg.<\/p>\n

And then she utters the proverbial mom catchphrase…<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I’ll be back. I promise.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

You spend most of the day peering out the window wondering when she will be back. It seems like forever. You know she’s out there somewhere. If only you see or talk to her the rest of the day would seem bearable.<\/p>\n

Just the reassurance she really hasn’t forgotten you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And finally, when it seems all is lost and you are exhausted from way too many teachers and starving since lunch was ages ago – she pulls up. You scramble to get into the safety of that car and back beside the woman who makes your\u00a0whole world make sense.<\/p>\n

All is right with the world again.<\/em><\/p>\n

Five years ago, God dropped me off.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I clung to Him with tears streaming down my face.<\/p>\n

And I whimpered…<\/p>\n

Please don’t leave me?<\/em><\/p>\n

This place looks scary?<\/em><\/p>\n

Why can’t I stay with you?<\/em><\/p>\n

But He promised if I would just stick it out it would be worth it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was going to learn all of these new things and have all these great new experiences.<\/p>\n

Not unlike elementary school, I didn’t love all of my lessons and I spent a fair amount of time looking out the window wondering where God was.<\/p>\n

I just wanted the reassurance He hadn’t forgotten me.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

All these years later, new experiences still seemed scary.<\/em><\/p>\n

And finally when all seemed lost God pulled up.<\/p>\n

And all was right with the world again.<\/p>\n
