It&#8217;s nominally about the book <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Passover-Magic-Roni-Schotter\/dp\/0316779288\" target=\"_blank\">Passover Magic<\/a><\/em>, but more about how each family makes its own magic through family traditions. Please click the like button&#8230;) Here&#8217;s what I wrote about \u00a0what some of <em>your<\/em> families do, straight from the virtual cutting room floor.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/homeshuling\/files\/2011\/03\/Ethel-merman.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-358\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/86\/2011\/03\/Ethel-merman-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>I asked the readers of my blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/homeshuling\">Homeshuling<\/a>, about what makes their seders uniquely their own. Like me, many of them mentioned an annual-joke-which-must-be told. <a href=\"http:\/\/imabima.blogspot.com\/\">Ima on the Bima<\/a>\u2019s father always stops before the four questions to say \u201cOK, we\u2019re done now\u2026..unless anyone has any questions.\u201d I also heard about a grandfather who surely deserves his own spot on <a href=\"http:\/\/oldjewstellingjokes.com\/\">Old Jews Telling Jokes<\/a>. When he receives his bowl of matzah balls, he asks \u201cWhat did they do with the rest of the matzah?\u201d (Ba-da ching.)\u00a0 A few told me about favorite family songs &#8211; \u201cThere\u2019s No Seder Like Our Seder:, performed in Ethel Merman\u2019s trademark vibrato (and volume) or the Ballad of the Four Sons, to the tune of Clementine. Other talked about creative ways they engage their children, from puppet shows to scavenger hunts.
