Haman builds gallows for Mordechai, and is hung on those same gallows. Haman plans a fantastic reward for himself, and instead has to bestow this reward on Mordechai.<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s a less celebrated version of \u00a0<em>v&#8217;nahafoch hu, <\/em>as well.\u00a0We buy bags of flour, oats and other baking goods to prepare Purim treats, and almost immediately need to think about ridding our house of <em>chametz<\/em> for Passover.<br \/>\nIn that spirit, I&#8217;ll be posting some of my favorite &#8220;get rid of your chametz&#8221; recipes over the next few weeks.<br \/>\nThe first is a delicious and really easy <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefreedictionary.com\/pareve\">pareve<\/a><\/em> cake, <a href=\"http:\/\/familyfun.go.com\/recipes\/grandma-metties-oatmeal-cake-682619\/\">Grandma Mettie&#8217;s oatmeal cake<\/a>. I use Earth Balance original and skip the frosting &#8211; it doesn&#8217;t need it at all.<a href=\"http:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/photo-94.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1143\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/photo-94.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe second is a great <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recipezaar.com\/The-Best-Bread-Machine-Challah-142387\">bread machine challah<\/a> recipe, courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/tcjewfolk.com\/category\/minnesota-mamaleh\/\">Minnesota Mamaleh<\/a>. She found it on Allrecipes, but I think it&#8217;s originally from Kosher by Design, a series of cookbooks which I find generally overrated, but not in this case. This is the best bread machine recipe I&#8217;ve found so far. (But if you have time to do the whole thing by hand or using a Kitchen Aid with a dough hook, try <a href=\"http:\/\/smittenkitchen.com\/2008\/09\/best-challah-egg-bread\/\">this one<\/a> instead.
