This is a gem of a museum, and the program was wonderful (my lack of enthusiasm for Valentine&#8217;s Day notwithstanding.) But while I sat there watching my girls potchke with collage materials for over an hour, I couldn&#8217;t help but think&#8230; wouldn&#8217;t it be great if they did this for Purim?<br \/>\nSo this year I wrote a grant to offer a series of Jewish parent-child art workshops at a l<a href=\"http:\/\/www.art-always.com\" target=\"_blank\">ocal art studio<\/a> where Ella has taken some fabulous classes. Thanks to the generosity of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hgf.org\/arts_culture\/\">Harold Grinspoon Foundation Arts and Culture Initiative<\/a>, yesterday we led the first of these events.<br \/>\nWe started with these<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart8.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1126\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a>and these<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1127\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a>and of course, these.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1129\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nA couple of hours (and a bunch of recycled cereal boxes) later, we came out with these<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart18.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1128\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart18.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nand also some of these<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart9.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1130\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart9.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart17.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1131\" src=\"https:\/\/homeshuling.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/purimart17-e1266323905564.jpg?w=235\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nOur next workshop will be on March 28 (yes, I <em>know<\/em> it&#8217;s the day before Passover.) We&#8217;ll be learning book making techniques and doing something else really cool which we will decide upon in the next few days.
