How perfect to meditate on those simple words.<\/p>\n

Born in India, Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895 \u2013 1986) was adopted by Dr Besant, then President of the Theosophical Society. The Order of the Star of the East was formed as it was predicted that Krishnamurti would become a world teacher of peace to lead the world into a new age.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs human beings we are all capable of inquiry, of discovery, and this whole process is meditation<\/strong>. Meditation is inquiry into the very being of the meditator. You cannot meditate without self-knowledge, without being aware of the ways of your own mind, from the superficial responses to the most complex subtleties of thought.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ultimately Krishnamurti became a great teacher outside of any religion or dogma. He preached universal ideals of mindfulness, awareness, love and happiness:<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice.<\/em>\u00a0It is man’s pretence that because he has choice he is free.\u00a0<\/em>Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward.<\/em>
\n Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence.\u00a0<\/em>In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom.<\/em>
\n Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity.<\/em>
\n Thought is time.<\/em>\u00a0Thought is born of experience and knowledge which are inseparable from time and the past.<\/em>\u00a0Time is the psychological enemy of man.<\/em>\u00a0Our action is based on knowledge and therefore time, so man is always a slave to the past.<\/em>
\n Thought is ever-limited and so we live in constant conflict and struggle.<\/em>\u00a0There is no psychological evolution.<\/em><\/p>\n

When man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts he will see the division between the thinker and thought, the observer and the observed, the experiencer and the experience.<\/em>\u00a0He will discover that this division is an illusion.<\/em>\u00a0Then only is there pure observation which is insight without any shadow of the past or of time.<\/em>
\n This timeless insight brings about a deep radical mutation in the mind.\u201d<\/em> ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We are living through some tumultous times and Krishnamurti’s call for timeless observation and awareness of the mind, is a voice that needs to be heard right now. Focusing our attention on the outside is a recipe for suffering. Focus within and find the inner light flickering with hope and glory.<\/p>\n
