q&a with david

Question submitted via email:

Hi David
I”m really enjoying your posts and look forward to receiving them every week!

Q: I really need your assistance and guidance on how to get over my daily negativity and stress.

I have this pain in my stomach when I receive any criticism from people about my work. A little argument with a client or my superior could turn my day upside down. I need help to flip this to positive energy – I need to learn the good in things. Will you help me?!!

A: Thanks for reaching out. It’s great to hear from you!

When you work on inner change, both inner and outer worlds change. So when you change and resolve your inner world, you’ll find your outer world will change too. Your life will begin to reflect what you truly desire.

Let your desire propel you forward to the outcome you seek.

What you are experiencing, is a pattern in the body, via the mind-body connection (our thoughts create emotions and “results” in the body like elevated blood pressure, release of chemicals like adrenaline, etc.).

Now, being immune to criticism is difficult, as you are apparently a sensitive person. The way I suggest you deal with this is via HUMOUR.

Always make a joke of the comment via agreeing with your colleagues at work. For instance, respond with – “Yes, I’m such an idiot, haha – must be something in the coffee!”, and smile! And then make them give you POSITIVE suggestions – make it about them. Say – “what do you suggest for me to do to make this right?”

or

“how can I make sure this never happens again?”

This way your put the ball in their court. It becomes about then, and removes the focus off you and onto them. Force them to make this into something beneficial and productive. Thus the outcome will be positive and affirming

You come out of the conversation empowered.

Acknowledge to yourself that you are a sensitive person, yet also conscientious, caring and good at your job.

Let me know how it goes. Play with it, and have lots of FUN!

Put the following quote (via Eckhart Tolle) on your wall:

“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but thought about it. Be aware of the thoughts you are thinking. Separate them from the situation, which is always neutral. It is as it is.”

Now in terms of your body and how you feel/ react, I believe that laughter and coming out feeling positive will help you the most. However, if you do feel some pain, put your hands over your stomach and take deep breaths, sending love to that part of your body (stomach) until the pain resolves.

Focus on the breathing, make it DEEP………………………..

Find Joy..it’s there waiting for you….

EXPECT MIRACLES!
