People around the world are watching with compassion and care the path of Hurricane Sandy on the east coast.<\/span>\u00a0 Much of my family lives in the NYC area and I grew up there.<\/span>\u00a0 Millions of people are without power and dealing with various challenging situations.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Life has a way of showing you who’s in charge.<\/span>
\nThere are times when you have to wait out the storm before taking action.<\/span>
\nMother Nature is a powerful force.
\nThese are the times and circumstances that test your faith and beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hurricane Sandy is creating flooding and damage that most of us have not seen or experienced in our lifetimes.<\/span>\u00a0 Over the next few days, the water will recede and the situation will be able to be assessed.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the meantime, you can only do what you can and that requires patience, compassion and encouragement.<\/span>\u00a0 Do your best to stay calm and centered and help those around you in whatever way you can, including your self.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is when a situation is at its worst that you can be at your best.<\/span>
\nThis is the amazing capacity of human beings.<\/span>
\nWe rise above circumstances, problems and challenges to help others and find solutions.<\/span>
\nThis disaster will create many opportunities for you to make a difference.<\/span><\/p>\n

The greatest resource we have is each other and our capacity to help one another.<\/span>
\nThis natural disaster is in control in many ways, but you still have the choice on how you respond.<\/span>
\nDo what you can with what you have where you are.<\/span>
\nA kind look, a gesture or a helping hand makes all the difference in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Life happens, but it is what you do that determines the true outcome.<\/span><\/p>\n

God bless us all and keep us safe and healthy.<\/span><\/p>\n
