One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well.<\/span>
\n The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.<\/span>
\n Finally he decided the animal was old, the well needed to be covered up anyway<\/span>
\n and it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.<\/span><\/p>\n

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.<\/span>
\n They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.<\/span>
\n At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.<\/span>
\n Then, to everyone’s amazement, he quieted down.<\/span>
\n A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well,<\/span>
\n and was astonished at what he saw.<\/span><\/p>\n

As every shovel of dirt hit his back, the donkey did something amazing.<\/span>
\n He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer’s neighbors continued to<\/span>
\n shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.<\/span>
\n Pretty soon, everyone was amazed, as the donkey stepped up over the edge<\/span>
\n of the well and trotted off.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Moral:<\/span>
\n Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.<\/span>
\n The trick is to shake it off and take a step up.<\/span>
\n Each of our troubles is a stepping-stone.<\/span><\/p>\n

We can get out of the deepest wells by not stopping and never giving up!<\/span><\/p>\n
