\"Switchfoot.jpg\"<\/span>It’s a busy, busy month for rockers Switchfoot.
\nThis week, the band will take the stage for Yahoo! Music’s new live concert program, “Maximum Performance Guitar Hero 5.” Lead vocalist Jon Foreman and drummer Chad Butler will also be featured in an upcoming episode of “Road Trip Nation” airing on PBS stations in November. \nThe band kicks off their headlining tour November 8 in their hometown of San Diego and will appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” performing on the outside stage, on November 12th. The band’s seventh full length album, Hello Hurricane<\/i>, releases November 10.
\nThe tour will feature Switchfoot playing Hello Hurricane<\/i> in its entirety, followed by fan favorites from its previous records. The band will be collecting donations for local food banks along the tour route, so fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to the shows.
\nSwitchfoot is also launching a new website, TheWorldYouWant.com<\/a>, which will spotlight goodness, beauty, and truth in everyday life. Fans are invited to contribute stories about people they know who are making this world a better place, and the band will read some of these contributions from stage during the tour.
\nWait, that’s not all.
\nSwitchfoot is the subject of an upcoming Rolling Stone<\/em> “In the Studio” feature and will be on the cover of Relevant Magazine’s<\/em> November\/ December issue. Jon Foreman has also penned two articles recently: his piece on charity in your own backyard will be in the November issue of Alternative Press<\/em> and he’s written on the nature of heroism for The Huffington Post.<\/em> He also recently participated in filming an innovative online game called “The Climate Challenge,”<\/a> for Oxfam.
