Tonight, American Idol’s Group 3 competes to fill the next 3 spots in the Top 12 (you can join me tonight LIVE <\/a>and comment during the show). We get the results tomorrow, on Wednesday … and then the Wild Card on Thursday?
\nYup, that’s right! MTV.com reports <\/a>that each judge will get to pick two contestants from the Top 36 (with maybe one more thrown in for good measure) – so no, Jamar would not be eligible but, gasp, Tatiana delToro is – and they come back on Thursday, March 5 to compete. The results will happen right then, just the same way they did during audition week. In the event of a 2-2 tie between the judges, Simon’s vote is the deciding one.
\nThat means that at the end of Thursday’s show, we’ll have our Top 12.
\nI think Anoop is a no brainer as a judge’s pick, as is Ricky Braddy. And unless they are absolutely terrible, they’re a shoo-in for the Top 12. I’m hoping Norman Gentle comes back; the show is just so much more fun when he’s there. I’d like Jasmine Murray to get another chance; she has a good voice but I think nerves got the best of her. We’ll have to see who doesn’t get through tonight’s Group 3 round <\/a>to see who else the judges might pick.
