\"KirkFranklin.jpg\"<\/span> Anyone who reads this blog regularly knows that I hate awards shows, so it should come as no surprise that instead of watching the Grammys last night, I watched “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and then went to bed to finish reading Confessions of a Shopaholic<\/em>.
\nOK, I did catch the opening performance from U2, but watching one of the greatest rock bands ever on TV really doesn’t do much for me.
\nSo tell me – what was your favorite moment from last night’s Grammys?<\/strong>
\nMaybe it was the pre-Grammy drama surrounding Chris Brown and Rihanna.<\/a> The two allegedly got into an altercation which resulted in Rihanna going to the hospital for a possible broken nose or jaw, and Brown turning himself in to LAPD. He posted the $50,000 bail, but neither entertainer appeared on the show.
\nOr maybe it was the fact that Mary Mary actually took a public stand and told the press that they voted for Prop 8<\/a>. Every entertainer is quick to say they voted against<\/em> the California proposition that would have defined marriage as a between a man and a woman, but it’s not often that you hear a Grammy-nominated artist take a public stand for it.

\nMary Mary was nominated for three Grammys and took home just one; Kirk Franklin took home awards in both categories he was nominated. Hawk Nelson’s Hawk Nelson Is My Friend<\/em> was nominated for Best Recording Package but lost out to Metalica’s Death Magnetic.<\/em> That’s OK – the nomination was huge all by itself.
