\"Dowhere.jpg\"<\/span>The nominations for the Juno Awards were announced this week and downhere (pictured), Starfield, NewWorldSon, Article One, and Life Support were nominated for Contemporary Christian\/Gospel Album Of The Year.
\nThe Juno Awards are the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys<\/a>. The awards will be handed out in Vancouver, British Columbia on March 20. The show will be broadcast live on CTV, and feature performances by Sarah McLauchlan, Nickelback, Simple Plan.
\nI’m a huge, longtime fan of downhere and Starfield and a new fan of Article One and NewWorldSon. I’ve never heard Life Support,<\/a> but their clip on the Juno site is really good.
\nWhat I love is that these bands are great examples of actual Christian musicians, embodying the spirit of both the art and the faith beautifully. (Check out our discussion about how to define Christian music for more<\/a>.)
