\"RobertPierre.jpg\"<\/span>High school sophomore Robert Pierre’s (coincidentally) sophomore album Identity<\/em> doesn’t come out until February, but through a partnership with Family Christian Stores more than 30,000 music fans have gotten an advance copy by making a $10 donation to The James Fund, an organization whose mission is to help widows and orphans both locally and worldwide.
\nWith the donation, shoppers receive 10 songs from Identity<\/em>, and a plush stuffed Barnabus bear is given to an orphan in the consumer’s community or in a developing country.
\nRobert Pierre released his debut album Inside Out <\/em>when he was just an eighth grader. Most kids who get involved in the entertainment industry have stars in their eyes. But this kid had a definite mission in mind – to help kids discover that through Christ, they have value to God.<\/p>\n


\n“For generations, my family has been involved with missionaries to build and run Christian orphanages,” says the 16-year-old Pierre. “But it wasn’t until I met thousands of kids right here in America who were truly hurting that I felt a calling for ministry. I want kids to understand that it doesn’t matter who the world tells them to be, it only matters who God says they are. That’s our identity and it’s the motivation behind the CD.”
\nHe’s a little older now, and his voice has matured, but his new album is still filled with great pop music that’ll reach tweens hungry for hip music and a real message. OK, even if they just want hip music from a cutie with magazine cover looks, they’ll get a good message anyway. I’m so glad to see more artists that young teens can listen to that don’t insult their senses with chipmunk vocals and boppy, inane lyrics.
