Since the Gospel SoundCheck blog didn’t start until June, I thought I’d go back and highlight some recent new releases that you might have missed:

\nQuiet Revolution<\/strong>
\nI love when a band can come right out and sing about Jesus, and it doesn’t sound like they’re singing about Jesus just to say the word “Jesus” in the song. It’s like they knew they could write a great song about anything, but they decided to write about Jesus, and you believe it all, because the music is so good and the lyrics are so sincere, and none of it seems contrived.
\nChris Taylor<\/strong>
\nTake Me Anywhere<\/strong>
\nChris Taylor is poetic and introspective, singing about God and faith so beautifully, with lyrics that make you think and music that just flows over you, that you can’t help but be drawn in. Meaningful lyrics, great music, this is a great album.
\nStarfield<\/strong>
\nI Will Go<\/strong>
\nOne of my all time favorite rock worship bands is back with yet another amazing album, offering up beautifully crafted modern rock perfectly intertwined with heartfelt and praiseful lyrics.
\nOmega<\/strong>
\nKiwomera Emmeeme<\/strong>
\nThis Ugandan native, who at the age of 4 was part of the African Children’s Choir, has a beautiful voice and the melodies on this album are ethnic and joyful and captivating. Except for one song in Swahili, all of the songs are in her native tongue Luganda. I have absolutely no idea what she’s saying (the press material says the songs are about things like love and finding meaning in life), but it’s truly beautiful.

\nWarren Barfield<\/strong>
\nWorth Fighting For<\/strong>
\nNot only is Warren Barfield one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, he has this great sound that’s a mix of pop, bluesy-funk, and acoustic guitar. He bares his soul in his music, and yet you can almost hear him smiling when he sings. The single, “Love Is Not A Fight” is featured in the upcoming movie, Fireproof.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
