Every artist has some organization or movement that they’re passionate about, and soapboxes all over the industry are filled with musicians vying for fans ears as they try to share their issue du jour.
\nBut Bread for the World is different.
\nThey work on a broader scale by organizing and uniting Christians to rise with one voice to influence our nation’s decision makers, urging them to end hunger at home and abroad. They were also instrumental in the Jubilee campaign for debt cancellation in developing countries.
\nAnd they don’t seek out partnerships with artists, something they told Evensong Rising’s lead vocalist Chris Sorenson when he first approached them about working together.
\nThat’s not to say they don’t ever partner with musicians. Bread for the World was a founding partner in Bono’s ONE Campaign.
\nOnce Chris explained that the band didn’t want anything in return, and shared their hearts for humanitarian activism, a partnership began to take form.
\nAnd it’s a perfect match.
\nEvensong Rising’s new album releases in September. In their work on behalf of Bread for the World, Evensong Rising will be encouraging audiences to participate in Bread for the World’s annual Offering of Letters, where church members across the country write personal letters and emails to members of Congress on issues affecting hungry and poor people.
\nTo learn more about this partnership and The Rising tour, visit www.therisingtour.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Their latest album isn’t scheduled to release until September, but Evensong Rising is already making news.
