Kelsey points out that the statue was made of styrofoam, which I suppose is better than wood, silver or gold. But you&#8217;ve still got to wonder if a styrofoam Jesus falls into the category of &#8220;graven image&#8221;.Anyway, Big Butter Jesus was immortalized in a song by comedian Heywood Banks, and he&#8217;s updated the song to reflect it&#8217;s new &#8230;. toasty &#8230; status.The folks at the church have apparently taken the joke in stride, saying on their website, &#8220;There&#8217;s been no shortage of attention or controversy surrounding this sculpture, and we&#8217;re okay with that. You&#8217;ve got to have a sense of humor when you build a 62-foot Jesus on I-75.&#8221;<strong>So what do you think is worse? A 62-foot statue of Jesus made out of styrofoam, or a song about it?<\/strong>My friend Kelsey is the guy who wrote the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/gospelsoundcheck\/2008\/11\/kelsey-timmermans-where-am-i-w.html\" target=\"_blank\">book, Where Am I Wearing,<\/a> touring the world to find out where his clothes were made.
