I&#8217;d like to share some of the insights, photos, and lessons from my trip. \u00a0 I was amazed that God&#8217;s principles of work, profit, give can be traced back to the very beginning of His work with His people. \u00a0 We traveled over 125 miles up hills, mountains to walk where Jesus walked.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/201\/2012\/11\/photo1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2409 aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/201\/2012\/11\/photo1.png\" width=\"497\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the most amazing locations we visited was the ruins of one of the first cities. \u00a0Each city has city gates where the poor could come for shelter, justice, and protection. \u00a0 God calls His followers to be city gates to the hurting all around us. \u00a0These city gates were places beggars sat in the book of Acts as well as places where Boaz (from the book of Ruth) did business.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/godonomics\/files\/2012\/11\/citygates1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2410\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/201\/2012\/11\/citygates1-150x150.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is a photo of my wife with the ruins of a city gate behind us. \u00a0 This ruin was a city God had designed to draw the hurting and poor toward to find his Shalom. \u00a0God&#8217;s ultimate purpose in life is for you and I to be City gates to those around us. \u00a0We are to look for Chaos in society, in it&#8217;s many forms, and offer God&#8217;s Shalom. \u00a0 His Shalom comes in many forms to the hurting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We were challenged to be more intentional about looking for the hurting around us, and asking ourselves, what kind of a city gate are we?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/godonomics\/files\/2012\/11\/citygates2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2411\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/201\/2012\/11\/citygates2-300x169.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For more Information, check out www.godonomics.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For more information, check out\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.godonomics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.godonomics.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.godonomics.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.godonomics.com\/images\/godonomics-header.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"162\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I returned from a 14 day trip to Israel and was able to experience the Bible and Christ in new and fresh ways.
