When i was a kid, School House Rock played a huge part of my edjamacation…. I mean education. Well, no ones perfect, right. I learned through song about government, “I’m just a bill up on Capital Hill.” I learned about adverbs and conjunctions: “Allie Allie Allie, get your adverbs here” and “Conjunction junction, what’s your function.” Yes, humor and animation can make learning fun. So how would you take serious issues like money, spending, and liberty and put them to song? The Bible teaches us that overspending and excessive borrowing will create pressure in our lives and relationships and ultimately rob us of internal and external freedom. Uncontrolled debt and continual overspending are harsh and cruel masters; as the Bible says, “The borrower is servant to the lender” (Proverbs 22:7). Continually spending more than you have or taking on too much debt is often a sign of something deeper: greed. The Bible says greed is a sin, and it inevitably causes problems and conflicts: “A greedy man brings trouble to his family” (Proverbs 15:27).<\/p>\n
