That&#8217;s a smaller share of evangelical votes than <a href=\"http:\/\/people-press.org\/commentary\/?analysisid=103\">John Kerry got in &#8217;04 or Al Gore got in &#8217;00<\/a>.<br \/>\nSo much of the news media&#8217;s coverage of evangelicals these last few years has centered on their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/03\/11\/politics\/11evangelical.html?partner=rssnyt&amp;emc=rss\">broadening agenda<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2008\/08\/18\/AR2008081801850.html\">increasing openness to the Democrats<\/a>.
