Raised a Lutheran but currently attending a Baptist church, the anti-abortion, anti-profanity (he once chided an aide for using the term \u201cred-light district\u201d<\/a> in the presence of a woman) Paul says his conservative religious faith jibes with his strident anti-Iraq stance. \u201cI was annoyed by the evangelicals\u2019 being so supportive of pre-emptive war, which seems to contradict everything that I was taught as a Christian,\u201d he tells The New York Times Magazine<\/em>. \u201cThe religion is based on somebody who\u2019s referred to as the Prince of Peace.\u201d<\/p>\n
