The Thompson campaign has been reading God-o-Meter again<\/a>. Or maybe it’s plain as day that the Tennessee Senator needs to turn this morning’s endorsement from the National Right to Life Committee<\/a> into a turn-the-corner moment for his slow motion presidential bid.
\nThe campaign has parlayed the endorsement into a fundraising pitch emailed to supporters this evening. A few excepts:<\/p>\n

Today is a big day for Fred and our campaign. The National Right to Life Committee PAC endorsed Fred in the 2008 Republican Presidential Primary….

\n….Fred responded to news of the endorsement by saying:
\n“In supporting me, those who have worked tirelessly to defend life are supporting a consistent conservative who has stood with them yesterday, who stands with them today, and will stand with them tomorrow.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Consistent conservative. Watch for that line to be wheeled out over and over again in the coming months as Thompson attempts to peel off social conservative votes from the formerly pro-choice–and currently very pro-Christian Right–Mitt Romney.<\/p>\n
