{"id":887,"date":"2010-01-27T14:13:32","date_gmt":"2010-01-27T14:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/2010\/01\/whats-your-coziest-winter-clothing.html"},"modified":"2010-01-27T14:13:32","modified_gmt":"2010-01-27T14:13:32","slug":"whats-your-coziest-winter-clothing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/freshliving\/2010\/01\/whats-your-coziest-winter-clothing.html","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Your Coziest Winter Clothing?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Baby, it&#8217;s cold outside, and&nbsp; in the mornings when it&#8217;s time to select my outfit du jour,&nbsp; two words ping around my head as I open the closet door: &#8220;cozy&#8221; and &#8220;comforting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So on this chilly Hump Day, I have a question for you:&nbsp; <b>What&#8217;s your coziest, most warming, and beloved piece of winter clothing?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s that you say &#8211; what&#8217;s <i>mine<\/i>?&nbsp; Glad you asked, because I just so happen to be wearing it today.&nbsp; It&#8217;s a sweater I got last fall from <a href=\"http:\/\/athleta.gap.com\/?\" target=\"_blank\">Athleta<\/a>, and it&#8217;s soft, warm perfection on a chilly or stress-filled day.&nbsp; It&#8217;s even called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/athleta.gap.com\/browse\/outfit.do?searchCID=44995&amp;oid=OUT16679\" target=\"_blank\">Cozy Cocoon Sweater,<\/a>&#8221; for heaven&#8217;s sake!&nbsp; And sometimes the right cocoon, I mean sweater, is just what we need to feel safe, hugged, and toasty on an icy day.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Photographic note: I am without <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/2009\/08\/monday-makeup-makeover.html\" target=\"_blank\">my usual makeup regimen<\/a> today.&nbsp; Because who needs makeup when one has on her best sweater?<\/p>\n<p>What makes this my favie?&nbsp; First, the words &#8220;marled heather yarn&#8221; in the catalog description.&nbsp; Second, it&#8217;s really three sweater-snuggles in one.&nbsp; Witness:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/Photo%2056.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Photo 56.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/assets_c\/2010\/01\/Photo%2056-thumb-300x225-11048.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" height=\"225\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>1. The cowl-neck is almost as long as the sweater, and I love the pleasant heft of a soft, rich scarf hanging from my neck.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/Photo%2055.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Photo 55.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/assets_c\/2010\/01\/Photo%2055-thumb-300x225-11050.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" height=\"225\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>2. The cowl is also stretchy enough to smooth over your shoulders into a shawl-like drape that&#8217;s just tight enough to feel like a hug but not so tight as to be constricting.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/Photo%2059.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Photo 59.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/84\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/01\/Photo%2059-thumb-300x225-11052.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-none\" height=\"225\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>3.&nbsp; Best of all &#8211; the cowl becomes a magical heathered hood, perfect for stepping outside to get the mail, or just cozying up at one&#8217;s desk while extolling the virtues of one&#8217;s favorite sweater!&nbsp; Cuddle-licious.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;..what piece of clothing saves your soul on a rough winter day?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Like what you see?
