According to <a href=\"http:\/\/gohawaii.about.com\/od\/festivals\/a\/hawaii_xmas_a.htm\">an article on About.com<\/a>, they rested, feasted, and put on hold any wars or conflicts for four months a year. <\/p>\n<p>A beautiful idea. Instead of restricting ourselves or being harsh with stringent resolutions, to express gratitude for all we have now. To nourish our bodies with fresh, healthy foods and thankful blessings.
