One day his<br \/>\nhorse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Such bad luck,&#8221; they said sympathetically.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll see,&#8221; the farmer replied.<\/p>\n<p>The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How wonderful,&#8221; the neighbors exclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll see,&#8221; replied the old man.<\/p>\n<p>The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses,<br \/>\nwas thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their<br \/>\nsympathy on his misfortune.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll see,&#8221; answered the farmer.<\/p>\n<p>The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young<br \/>\nmen into the army. Seeing that the son&#8217;s leg was broken, they passed<br \/>\nhim by.
