Here at Fresh Living, we salute the imaginative, word-bending genius Theodore Seuss Geisel on what would have been his 105th birthday<\/a>. We especially adore The Lorax, of course. I just checked out the video (see below) for the first time in years (woah groovy 1970’s soundtrack!) and got sad\/happy chills re-hearing his prescient words, which couldn’t be more relevant today:<\/p>\n

“My name is The Lorax and I speak for the trees–let ’em grow, let ’em grow! But nobody listens too much dontcha know. I speak for the trees and I’ll yell and I’ll shout for the fine things on earth that are on their way out! They say I’m old-fashioned and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast.” <\/p>\n

Thanks, Dr. S., for this inspiring creature to remind us of the importance of protecting disappearing life and beauty–and that we really don’t need any more thneeds. <\/p>\n
