{"id":187,"date":"2009-02-27T10:42:10","date_gmt":"2009-02-27T10:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/2009\/02\/wii-want-flower.html"},"modified":"2009-02-27T10:42:10","modified_gmt":"2009-02-27T10:42:10","slug":"wii-want-flower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/freshliving\/2009\/02\/wii-want-flower.html","title":{"rendered":"Wii Want Flower!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How gorgeous a video game idea is &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.us.playstation.com\/PS3\/Games\/Flower\">Flower<\/a>?&#8221;&nbsp; In it, you are a flower petal, and the object of the game is to float through an ever-changing landscape of growing things.&nbsp; There&#8217;s no way you can &#8220;die&#8221; in this game&#8211;in fact, there&#8217;s no &#8220;win&#8221; or &#8220;lose&#8221; at all.&nbsp; It&#8217;s just about being free in a beautiful place.&nbsp; Like a virtual reality meditation.&nbsp; It reminds me of the attraction <a href=\"http:\/\/disneyworld.disney.go.com\/parks\/epcot\/attractions\/soarin\/\">&#8220;Soarin'&#8221;<\/a> at Epcot Center, where you float and swoop and glide through landscape after landscape.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Loveliness for loveliness&#8217; sake.&nbsp; What&#8217;s not to like?<\/p>\n<p>Check out the video below, where the game&#8217;s developers describe &#8220;Flower&#8221; as &#8220;a video game version of a poem.&#8221;&nbsp; I can certainly see why Slate.com&#8217;s Chris Suellentrop <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/id\/2212231\/\">bought a Sony PlayStation<\/a> just so he could play it.&nbsp; And even though I&#8217;m so not usually this person, I actually signed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petitiononline.com\/f3m9d73h\/\">an online petition <\/a>to convince Nintendo to make the game available for the Wii system (which I have).&nbsp; Because I want to play!
