Do It."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/stress_in_life.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"stress_in_life.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/84\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/04\/stress_in_life-thumb-200x200-12830.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left;margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt\" height=\"200\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/span>Did you know that April is National Stress Awareness Month?&nbsp; It&#8217;s good timing for me, because I&#8217;m going through a minor stress blip in my life.&nbsp; So I&#8217;ve been thinking about ideas for ways to a) become more aware of the triggers that start stress building and b) take a step in whatever direction stress isn&#8217;t heading.<\/p>\n<p>I started with a list of things that automatically, instantly lower my blood pressure (I probably mean this in an emotional sense&#8211;I&#8217;ve never measured it):<\/p>\n<p>1. Being slobbered on by <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/freshliving\/2009\/10\/for-a-puppy-on-her-big-day.html\">my puppy niece Jane<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Seeing my best friend&#8217;s phone number on the caller ID.<\/p>\n<p>3. Peeking at my DVR and discovering lots of saved goodies.<\/p>\n<p>4. Planting a seed in, or watering, my garden (as an aside, did you know that April is also National Gardening Month?!).<\/p>\n<p>5. Baking, then smelling, then tasting what I&#8217;ve made.<\/p>\n<p>6. Standing up from my desk and walking over to my office window to see what the tree outside is up to.<\/p>\n<p>7. Doing 5 minutes of simple stretches.<\/p>\n<p>8.
