We loved him so very much! We will miss him forever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With a career that lasted over 50 years, \u00a0Fred Willard played roles in iconic films such as The Rob Reiner mockumentary film \u201cThis Is Spinal Tap\u201d and the Christopher Guest mockumentaries \u201cBest In Show,\u201d \u201cA Might Wind,\u201d \u201cWaiting for Guffman,\u201d and \u201cMascots: to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio native began his stage career in New York City in the late 1950s. His first line of work was in production of \u201cDesperate Hours\u201d where he worked alongside his future comedy partner Vic Grecco. The two would later tour as Willard &amp; Grecco and perform in TV shows like \u201cThe Dean Martin Show\u201d and \u201cThe Tonight Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 1967, Willard appeared in his debut filed called \u201cTeen Mother,\u201d but the actor wouldn\u2019t rise to fame until the late 70s when he made a regular appearance on the satires \u201cFernwood 2 Night\u201d, \u201cForever Fernwood\u201d and \u201cAmerica 2-Night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Willard found joy through making people laugh, and he continued to use his talents up until his death. The late actor had just recently finished filming the Netflix series \u201cSpace Force,\u201d with Executive producer and actor Steve Carrell.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFred Willard was the funniest person that I\u2019ve ever worked with. He was a sweet, wonderful man,\u201d Carrell said in a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>The four time Emmy nominee also appeared in Broadway comedies such as \u201cWaiting for Guffman\u201d and \u201cA Might Wind.\u201d\u00a0 The actor has starred in more than 300 movies and TV shows throughout his career, making a lasting impression on Hollywood filmmakers, comedians, and actors. Following the announcement of his death, tributes started pouring in from stars such as Kathy Griffin, Chris O\u2019dowd, and Jimmy Kimmel, all who credited Willard for the impact he made in their careers.<\/p>\n<p>The actor is survived by his only daughter, Hope, along with a son-in-law and his grandson Freddie.
