The tragedy of Matthiew Stavkovy\u2019s life being cut short at just 13 years old has left a profound impact on his family, community, and the broader Christian world. Known for his unwavering dedication to his faith, Matthiew was deeply involved in his church and committed to living a life that glorified God. Matthiew was memorizing Revelation 21, a passage that speaks of a new heaven and earth, when he was tragically killed during a robbery in Turnkey Park, Kent, Washington. He had gone to the park with his sister and a friend to sell a camera through the online marketplace OfferUP when the fatal incident occurred. His brother, Michael Stavkovy, shared that Matthiew\u2019s heart stopped beating after a bullet pierced his back, but his spirit and dedication to God will forever resonate with those who knew him.<\/p>\n

Matthiew\u2019s life was celebrated at a memorial service held at Way to Salvation Church. Michael described his younger brother as someone who put his all into everything he did, whether it was serving God, excelling in school, or playing sports. He recounted with tears how Matthiew was very involved in church and made sure his life was solely devoted to living for the glory of God. A young preacher of the Good News, Matthiew loved to sing with his family and was an active member of the church\u2019s kids\u2019 choir. He eagerly awaited the day he could join the youth choir in the fall. His musical talents were diverse; he played the piano, guitar, and trumpet in the church band. Matthiew\u2019s passion for music was only rivaled by his dedication to scripture. He memorized numerous Bible chapters and recited them at church, sharing the word of God with his community.<\/p>\n
