A Texas community is mourning after a pastor\u2019s daughter and wife were killed in a tragic car accident. Mark McDaniel, the pastor of New Hope Community Church in Venus, Texas, was driving with his wife, Brandi, and their 17-year-old daughter, Hannah, when the pastor reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guardrail, according to KDFW-TV<\/a>. The family was returning from a high school basketball tournament.<\/p>\n

According to KXAS-TV, some of Hannah\u2019s teammates were following on school buses and saw the accident. Unfortunately, Hannah died on the scene, while her mother died not long after at Scenic Mountain Medical Center, a local hospital. The preacher sustained minor injuries in the collision. Members and leaders of New Hope Community Church gathered to pray for the family amid such tremendous loss.<\/p>\n

WFAA-TV reported<\/a> that the live-streamed service included Scripture, prayer, and music. Leaders said, according to KDFW-TV, \u201cWe are gathered together this morning as a group of wounded healers. It\u2019s not a normal day by any means. Each of you have woken up in an altered state of reality. And normal has left the building.\u201d Church members offered various uplifting comments aimed at bringing peace amid so much uncertainty and pain, with one man noting the importance of building faith.<\/p>\n
