Annie Wersching, the actress best known for her roles in television series such as “Star Trek: Picard,” “24,” “The Vampire Diaries,” and “Bosch,” passed away at the age of 45 after a quiet battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with cancer during the summer of 2020, but continued her work through it. In a GoFundMe fundraiser for her husband and three children, the description read, \u201cShe\u2019s a private person by nature, and the diagnosis made her even more so. She wanted to protect her boys. She wanted to get better so she could continue working. And honestly, she just didn\u2019t really want to talk about it. She wanted to live her life, on her terms, and be with her family,\u201d the fundraiser said. \u201cAnnie lived for her family. She loved her work and cherished her friends, but Steve and the boys were her absolute everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fundraiser was created by close friend and co-star, Ever Carradine, who says she created the GoFundMe to help Annie’s husband, Stephen, care for their children. “It’s so they can continue to go to baseball games (Go Cardinals!) take music lessons and play little league. It’s to help pay for college. It’s so Steve can continue Annie’s tradition of filling the house with every life-sized balloon that’ll fit in the car for birthday mornings. It’s to give them time to navigate life as a family of four without the burden of paying medical bills or funeral expenses. It’s so they can continue to live life in a way that they know would make Annie proud.”<\/p>\n

The St. Louis, Missouri, native was best known for her recurring roles as Emma Whitmore, an engineer in the NBC series “Timeless,” and as F.B.I agent Renee Walker in the Fox series “24.” She also played roles in the popular TV shows, “The Vampire Diaries” and “Supernatural.” Wersching was married to her husband, Stephen Full, for nearly 14 years and share three boys together, Freddie, 12, Ozzie, 9, and Archie, 4. Full released a heartbreaking statement saying, \u201cShe found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn\u2019t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for the adventure to find you. Go find it. It\u2019s everywhere. And find it we shall. As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie.
