Stephen “Twitch” Boss, best known for his dancing on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and as the DJ on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, has passed away at age 40 due to apparent suicide. His wife, Allison Holker, released a statement saying, “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won\u2019t be a day that goes by that we won\u2019t honor his memory.” She concluded by saying, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”<\/p>\n

Stephen got his start in the industry in 2008 when he appeared on the popular dance show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ where he placed as runner-up. He went on to star in movies such as ‘Step Up’ and ‘Magic Mike XXL’ where he got to showcase his dance skills. He was also well known as the DJ and executive producer on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ which had recently come to an end in May 2022. DeGeneres paid tribute to her friend by writing, “I’m heartbroken. Twitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”<\/p>\n

More recently he had been hosting several reality TV shows such as ‘The Real Dirty Dancing’ and ‘Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding’s’ where he hosted that with his wife, who he has been married to since 2013. Boss and Holker met while they were competing on the all-star season of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and had just celebrated their 9-year anniversary this weekend.
